CALOR 2018 - General Information



The CALOR 2018 Workshop will meet at the University of Oregon, Eugene,
on May 21-25, 2018 in the Ballroom of the Erb Memorial Union.

Registration Fees and Deadlines
The early (by April 15, 2018) registration fee for the workshop is $450.
The early registration fee for students is $400.
The early companion charge for registration and participation in the social events is $165.
All registration fees must be paid in USD.


Please register by April 15, 2018. Registration fees will increase to $490, $450 for students, and $200 for companions after this date.


Check-In
There will be an early check-in on Sunday, May 20 in the atrium of Willamette Hall (across 13th Street from the EMU) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Check-in will resume at 8:00 am on Monday, May 21 in the EMU at the registration desk near the Ballroom. The registration desk is also your main point where you can get help at any time.

Computing
There will be internet access on campus for workshop registrants. You will receive information on how to connect to the wireless network in your registration packet.

The submission deadline is April 1, 2018.
The submission deadline has been extended to April 7, 2018.
We are arranging to publish the CALOR 2018 conference proceedings
in the Journal of Physics: Conference Series.


Format of Presentations
Talks must be uploaded (in pdf format) on the conference indico agenda server at least 24 hrs before the session. For more information about the agenda server speakers should contact their session chairpersons.

Student Rec Center

Climate
The weather in Eugene in late May is mild. Average maximum temperature is around 70oF (21oC) and average minimum temperature around 46oF (8oC). The average rainfall is 1.7 inches for the month of May.
